Harvard University Art Installation

Pre-cutting of joinery for an art piece to be displayed on the Harvard campus

Cambridge, MA
Summer 2018

Dan was a critical collaborator for our public art installation at Harvard as he provided invaluable insight into the project design details, in addition to the actual timber framing fabrication of the artwork. We look forward to working again with Dan in the near future.

— David Buckley Borden

Project Description

We were approached by some folks from Harvard University that manage the Harvard Woods in Petersham, MA. They were doing an art piece on climate change and had a basic design drawn up by David Buckely Borden for a piece to be displayed on the Harvard campus in front of the main science building.

All of the wood was sawn up by the folks at Harvard Woods and brought to our shop for pre-cutting of the joinery. The timbers were then knocked down and brought back to the Harvard Woods shop where they were painted and prepped for the exhibit.
